Jump Start is a program for adults, designed to provide a
comprehensive overview of
components essential for healthy movement. Together we will
also explore and
examine patterns and beliefs about health and use movement-based
activities to
‘stretch’ the imagination towards an actively
integrated lifestyle. Health can be
become a creative project, a curious experiment when juxtaposed
with Art and Science. Movement will be our art form and framework
of discovery.
Through active presence and participation, we will aim to
create a Learning Community, encouraging an ongoing exchange
of reflection and action, theory and practice,
learning and applying. Each week we will focus on one feature
of physical fitness
followed by an hour of exercise as a means to practice each
principle. Discussion in
small and large groups will consolidate wisdom, deepen curiosity
and give room to
explore our own approaches to active living.
This program will run for 12 weeks starting
Sept 16th from 6-7:30pm at The Sands in Golden Lake.
